I love Emma Thompson. Howard's End. Sense and Sensibility. I loved Alan. Seductive voice. Great overshadowing of my beloved Kevin Costner! Truly. Madly. Deeply. And Juliet Stephenson too. Love actually made me cry because of the scene where she discovers that she didn't get the necklace but the mournful CD which she probably already had a copy of. I once found out that a partner had bought two necklaces and I received one but never knew who got the other. Truth Alex. I haven't entirely trusted any man with the first name Alexander since.

When he passed, no one talked about it in France. I went to see the Winter Guest at the Champoo (a legendary cinema in the Quartier Latin / Sorbonne area) when I was 20. I have this film on DVD. It is a beautiful film. His role as Colonel Brandon in Sense & Sensibility is wonderful. Saw this at the theatre as well. He was a blast in Die Hard and Robin Hood as well, these were the first times I saw him in a film. Such a commanding presence. I have yet to see the "Versailles" film he was said to release around the same time he left us. Alan Rickman is a truly, madly, deeply missed english actor and film director.
